Abby Holekamp is currently Mellon Assistant Professor of Russian and East European Studies at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Broadly speaking, her research focuses on transnational cultural histories of the Russian Empire and Soviet Union, and Western Europe. Her current book project explores the interplay of French and Russian revolutionary cultures from the 1870s-1930s and how these — at times unexpected — connections affected the production of new political and cultural knowledge across Europe. She completed her Ph.D. in History at Georgetown University in 2021, and her research has been supported by a Fulbright-Hays Fellowship and by the Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies, among other organizations.
